Stamp Duty rates on Leave & Licence agreements
Stamp Duty rates on Leave & Licence agreements have been revised by Govt. of Maharashtra wef: 7th May 2005, as follows:

THE NEW STAMP DUTY RATES FOR LEAVE AND LICENCE AGREEMENTS
1. In case of residential premises in Pune for a term not exceeding 60 months.
a) Where the amount of average annual rent plus security deposit, etc. does not exceed Rs.2,50,000 for a single term of twelve months. Rs.500 for every term of twelve months or part thereof.
b) Where the amount of average annual rent plus security deposit, etc. exceeds Rs.2,50,000 but does not exceed Rs.5,00,000 for single term of twelve months. Rs.1,000 for every term of twelve months or part thereof
c) Where the amount of average annual rent plus security deposit, etc. exceeds Rs.5,00,000 for single term of twelve months Rs.2,000 for every term of twelve months or part thereof.
2. In case of non-residential premises in pune
a) Twise the amount of stamp duty chargeable for residential premises under entry (a), (b) & (c) as above.
3. In case of lease, stamp duty will be based on the market value of the property. The rates for stamp duty on lease are as follows:
a) For a period not exceeding 5 years same duty as on conveyance on 10% of the market value of the property.
b) For a period not exceeding 5 years but not exceeding 10 years same duty as on conveyance on 25% of the market value of the property.
c) For a period not exceeding 10 years but not exceeding 29 years same duty as on conveyance on 50% of the market value of the property.
d) For a period exceeding 29 years same duty as on conveyance on 90% of the market value of the property.
